Winter ~ 2023

“During my time as the PAVIA Gallery Artist-in-Residence my focus became the nearby McIntosh Run Watershed. I spent time outdoors exploring the trails and discovering plant life. Over warm drinks at the cafe, I researched the landscape’s maps, history and biodiversity. In the studio, I scribbled endless notes and started a new series of paper weavings.

This closing exhibition shares some of those moments with you, featuring the paper weavings and works in progress with maps and notes. Older photographs are also included, refreshed in context after getting to know the area. A heartfelt round of thanks to Christopher Webb, Director/Curator of Pavia Gallery, for his encouragement and continued support of my art practice; the McIntosh Run Watershed Association and Backlands Coalition for their stewardship of this special landscape; and cartographer Darren Talbot for sharing his lovely map work with me.
